Popsickle Stick Bridge Design Kick-Off
The SJP Engineering Club kicked off its first project with a Popsicle stick bridge design competition! Over 25 students were in attendance for the event. Students are encouraged to work in groups of 2 or 3 to complete the challenge.
Criteria for the bridge design:
- Bridge must have a minimum width of 1 popsicle stick
- Bridge must span .7 m and not be any longer than .85 m
- Be able to support at least 1 kg load
- Be made only of hot glue and popsicle sticks
We'll test the bridges on Tuesday, March 9th.
The winning bridge will be determined based on the following ratio:
mass_held / mass_bridge
The greatest ration wins!
Good luck to our teams!
